This study was conducted to effectively address the rising risk of mosquito- and tick-borne infectious diseases—including malaria, dengue fever, Japanese encephalitis, scrub typhus, and severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS)—driven by climate change, global mobility, and ecological shifts. As imported cases continue to emerge and domestic transmission risks increase, existing public health campaigns have largely remained limited to general information delivery, lacking audience-specific customization and behavioral impact. To overcome these limitations, this study aimed to develop digital media–based preventive communication contents, such as short-form videos and visual materials, optimized for contemporary media environments. The process began with a comparative analysis of domestic and international health promotion cases, followed by institutional consultations to incorporate the informational needs of key target groups (travelers, farmers, and the general public). Applying the Health Belief Model (HBM), tailored message strategies and visual tones were designed for each target audience. Based on these findings, a comprehensive set of preventive materials—including live-action and motion-graphic short videos, infographics, card news, and multilingual leaflets—was produced. For mosquito-borne diseases, three vertical short-form videos were developed for the general public, discharged soldiers, and overseas travelers, respectively. Four horizontal versions (40- and 20-second edits for broadcasting and billboards) were additionally produced upon request, alongside one leaflet, two banners, and a set of poster cards for offline distribution. For tick-borne diseases, one 40-second broadcast video, one main short-form video, and three concise SNS edits were created to ensure flexible use across multiple channels. One leaflet was localized into five languages—Korean, Vietnamese, Filipino, Lao, and Thai—to improve accessibility for multicultural and agricultural communities. All contents were designed for dissemination through SNS platforms such as TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram, as well as for offline use in local health centers, airports, and rural areas. While formal evaluation will be conducted in the next phase, the produced outputs are expected to enhance message accessibility and behavioral engagement across diverse populations. In conclusion, this study presents a practical digital media–based model for infectious disease prevention communication, providing a foundation for standardization and future expansion of public health promotion strategies.
