In this study, we demonstrated the development of colistin dependence in Acinelobacler baumannii isolates after exposure to the human cationic antimicrobial peptide LL-37. The LL-37-induced colistin-dependent mutants showed susceptibility to many other antibiotics and IS1595 or ATTT insertions in LpxACD. (C) 2019 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
