유전상담 교육 교재 제작 및 교육 과정 운영 방안 마련

초록

1 연구 목적 국내 희귀질환 전문기관의 유전상담을 지원하는 실무자를 위한 표준화된 교육 교재와 체계적 교육과정이 필요함. 본 연구는 유전상담 교육 교재를 개발하고 시범 교육을 운영하여 그 효과를 검증함으로써, 향후 지속 가능한 교육 체계 구축을 위한 기초자료를 마련하는 데 목적이 있음. 2. 연구 내용 및 방법 - 희귀질환 전문기관 실무자 대상의 유전상담 교육 교재를 개발하고 제작함. - 개발된 교육 교재를 기반으로 시범 교육을 운영하고, 사전·사후 역량 평가 및 만족도 조사를 통해 교육 효과를 검증함. 3. 연구 결과 - 유전상담 교육 교재는 유전상담 개요, 의학유전학, 유전상담 서비스 프로토콜, 정보수집, 평가, 검사 전 상담, 검사 후 상담, 추후관리, 심리·사회적 상담, 책임 및 의무 등 실무 중심의 내용으로 구성되었으며, 전문가 검토를 통해 적절성을 확인함. - 필수교육 및 심화교육의 시범 교육 운영 결과, 필수교육 후 정보수집, 유전자검사, 상담 역량 및 심리사회적 기술 등이 향상되었으며, 심화교육 후에도 역량 및 기술이 교육 전보다 높은 수준으로 유지됨. - 교육 내용의 만족도는 매우 높았으며, 실습 및 사례 기반 교육이 특히 긍정적으로 평가됨. - 교육 난이도는 대체로 적절하였으나, 의학유전학과 유전자검사 기법 등 유전학 관련 내용에서 어려움이 보고됨. - 전반적 교육 평가는 이해도 향상, 실무 적용 가능성, 교육 기간·방법의 적절성에서 모두 긍정적인 결과를 보였음. 4. 고찰 및 제언 본 연구는 국내 희귀질환 전문기관 실무자를 위한 유전상담 교육 교재를 체계적으로 개발하였고 시범 교육을 운영하여 그 효과를 확인하였음. 교육 후 유전상담 역량 강화와 교육에 대한 높은 만족도가 확인되어 향후 표준화된 교육 체계 구축의 필요성과 실현 가능성을 뒷받침함. 향후에는 유전학 기초와 검사 원리에 대한 단계적 교육 강화를 포함한 교육 교재와 과정의 지속적 관리와 업데이트 체계 구축, 그리고 교육의 질 관리와 운영 체계 강화를 위한 정부 차원의 지원이 요구됨.

1. Purpose of the Study Standardized educational materials and a structured curriculum are needed to support genetic counseling practices in rare disease specialty centers in Korea. This study aimed to develop a genetic counseling training manual, implement a pilot training program, and evaluate its effectiveness to provide foundational evidence for establishing a sustainable education system. 2. Study contents and methods Developed and produced genetic counseling educational materials for practitioners in rare disease centers. - Implemented a pilot education program using the developed materials, and evaluated its effectiveness through pre/post competency assessments and satisfaction surveys. 3. Results - The educational material covers genetic counseling overview, medical genetics, service protocols, information gathering, assessment, pre- and post-test counseling, follow-up care, psychosocial support, and professional responsibilities. Expert review confirmed its appropriateness. The pilot program, consisting of basic and advanced sessions, improved genetic counseling competencies, with gains highest after the basic session and remaining above baseline after the advanced session. - Satisfaction with the training content was very high, particularly for practice-based and case-based learning components, although some participants reported challenges with medical genetics and genetic testing methodologies. - Overall training evaluation indicated positive outcomes in terms of improved understanding, practical applicability, and appropriateness of the training duration and format. 4. Discussion and Recommendations This study systematically developed a genetic counseling education manual and validated its effectiveness through pilot implementation. Enhanced competencies and high satisfaction levels support the need and feasibility of establishing a standardized national education system. Continued efforts are required to strengthen stepwise instruction in medical genetics and testing principles, maintain and update training materials, and secure governmental support for quality management and system development.
