This study aimed to improve the implementation of prevention, intervention, and management strategies for NAFLD through comprehensive data collection and interviews. Based on the findings, an enhanced protocol was developed, validated, and practical strategies for clinical application were proposed. 1. Public Awareness Survey ㅇ Only 13.2% of respondents were aware of their NAFLD diagnosis, with just 40.2% seeking liver care. Barriers varied by age: younger groups cited time constraints, those in their 50s believed in self-management, and older groups underestimated the severity of NAFLD. 2. Medical Professionals’ Awareness Survey ㅇ Non-invasive fibrosis assessments (e.g., Fibrosis-4, NAFLD Fibrosis Score) were rarely used (6.9%). Key improvement areas highlighted were patient education (67.5%) and lifestyle counseling (61.1%). Primary care relied more on liver function tests, while referral centers preferred advanced diagnostics like VCTE. 3. Intervention Study Using a Mobile App for Fatty Liver Patients ㅇ An intervention study involving MASLD patients assessed the effects of dietary intervention using a mobile app and smartwatch was conducted. Patients using the app showed a 24% reduction in liver fat, significantly outperforming the control group. The study suggests that mobile app and smartwatch interventions can positively impact liver health and weight management. 4. Algorithm for Improving Screening Compliance and Cost-effectiveness Analysis for High-Risk Fatty Liver Patients in Korea ㅇ Screening high-risk individuals with non-invasive methods added 14,949/QALY confirmed the approach as cost-effective based on the $25,000/QALY threshold.
