Glucose Transporter 1 (GLUT1) Expression is Associated with Intestinal type of Gastric Carcinoma

초록

Glucose transporter1(GLUTl) 발현의 증가가 많은 종류의 암에서 보고되었다. Glut1의 발현의 정도가 gastric adenocarcinoma에서 유용한 생물학적 정보를 제공할 것이라는 가설하에 gastric cancer에서 GLUT1의 발현을 분석하기 위하여 RT-PCR과 immunostaining을 행하였다. RT-PCR결과 GLUT1이 정상 위조직에서와는 달리 위암 조직에서 광범위하게 발현되었다. Immunohistochemistry를 행한 결과 GLUT1 단백질이 정상 위 상피조직과 intestinal metaplasia에서는 확인되지 않았으나 gastric adenocarcinoma를 가진 환자 65명중 11명의 plasma membrane에서 다양한 정도의 specific GLUT1 immunostaining을 보였다. GLUT1 단백질이 tumor stage나 nodal metastasis와는 큰 상관관계를 보이지 않으나 GLUT1의 positive immunostaining은 intestinal differentiation과 밀접한 관계가 있었다. 따라서 본 실험의 결과 Glut1 단백질이 위암의 intestinal type과 관련이 있음을 보여주고 있다.
